Overview

If you are searching for the 12 Day Everest Base Camp Trek, then you are on the right page. We are a professional adventure company based in Kathmandu, and we offer budget-to-premium EBC trek packages to our clients with the best rates and services. For all details of the 12-day EBC trek plan, please read the below information. If there is any confusion, please ask us; we will be happy to help you.

The 12 day Everest base camp trek is a customized teahouse trekking in the Everest region. We exclude the Kathmandu day tour, giving priority to completing the trek within 12 days. Phakding, Namche, Khumjung, Dingboche, Lobuche, and Gorekshep are the best accommodation sites to complete the Everest base camp trekking route.

Passing the beautiful town of Lukla, the walk begins on the bank of the Dudh koshi with a flapping player’s flag on monasteries. The mane, Chorten, Gumba, and monasteries surplus the beauty of the Khumbu region. The hospitality of Sherpas makes every meal fruitful. The small villages await you on the bank of the Dudhkoshi or in a valley between mountains every day. Uphills and downhills, pine trails, pastures, or grassland show its diverse vegetation and fauna inhabiting there. The passersby, sheepherds, and yaks add joy during the walk. The greenery becomes dull in high elevation, but the beauty we see in naked hills, random growth of Himalayan herbs, yaks surviving on harsh conditions, and snowcapped landscapes, mountains, and rocks is amazing.

You will get an attached room up to Namche Bazar; the more you walk higher, the harder it will be to get facilities. Extreme climate and high altitude both remain challenges. The confidence and determination make you strong. We provide the best facilities, a friendly environment, and the best price guarantee. Thus travel with Mission Summit treks to make a successful Mount Everest Base Camp trek.

Lukla airport, also named Tenzing Hillary airport, is the gateway of the EBC trek.

Phakding is a small town on the bank of Dudhkoshi. It is a commercialized village with a hotel and lodge. Since Phakding lies at low altitude than Lukla, we will descend down towards the bank of Dudh Koshi, passing the small town of Lukla. The greenery of the surrounding , the burble of a river, and the peaceful environment make for a wonderful beginning of trek. Passing the wooden bridge, suspension bridge, and enjoying the view of the forest, flow of Dudh Koshi, uphills and downhills, we will reach Phakding.

Namche trek begins after having breakfast in Phakding. Walking on the bank of Dudhkoshi and crossing three suspension bridges, we will reach on Pine Trail. Entering the Sagarmatha National Park, passing Manjo village and Jorsale village set in the SNP, we will reach Namche bazar.

Things to do in Namche Bazzar

  2. Visit Namche Monastery
  3. Experience Nightlife
  4. Enjoy Local food
  5. Relax at Local Cafés

Today is an acclimatization day; to adjust the body to the changing environment, we will remain in the periphery of Namche. We will leave Namche and walk uphill towards the Everest View Hotel to get a mesmerizing view of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lostse Shar, Amma Doblam, Tabuche and Cholache, Kusum Khangaru, Khangteka, and Thamsherkhu. After spending about an hour in the Everest View hotel, we will descend down to Khumjung Valley.

Khumjung Valley offers a monastery with preserved skulls of Yeti, Hillary School, and an innocent ethnic Sherpa community living with nature. We will explore the valley after having lunch.

After having breakfast in Khumjung village, we will trek towards Phortse. Your walk continues on uphills and downhills of the Everest region with a wonderful view of Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Tamserkhu on the horizon. You may see pheasant, musk deer, Himalayan Thar, and Yak in your surroundings. You will pass Kayangjuma, Sanasa, and walk through a rhododendron forest with sprouting vegetation and reach Phortse, a small Sherpa town.

To reach Dingboche, you will ascend 550 m high in around 4–5 hours. You will leave Phortse and walk uphill, passing Phortse helipad. Different uphills and downhills continue with wonderful mountain scenery. After around 2 hours of walking, you will reach Pangboche. Enjoying the view of different Gompa, Chorten, and Maniwall.

In order to take rest and acclimatize in Dingboche, we will not walk long today. A short hike in Nagarjun Peak gives the best view of Mt. Makalu. You can also hike to Chukhumg or take rest in a tea house.

After having breakfast in Dingboche, we will walk uphill towards Thukla. The nongreen surroundings, rocky path, snow-covered landscape, pasture, and raring Yak give a pure vision of Himalayan life. Scattered and small Sherpa villages established to serve travelers give the best services. The trekking in the Khumbu region becomes unique after reaching Lobuche. The mountain ranges become closer, and the purest cool air and snowy surroundings are great, resembling heaven.

The day to be on Destination—Everest Base Camp makes you energetic from the morning. We will descend down from the Everest Pyramid and move our steps towards Gorekshep, the last teahouse station of the Everest base camp trek. To reach the nearest valley of Everest base camp, we will walk on the moranes, rocky path, enjoying the beautiful views of Mount Everest, Nuptse, Lhola, Khumbuste, Changaste, Pumori, and Labuche.

We will rest for an hour in Gorekshep, keep our bags, and head towards Everest Base Camp. The highest elevation, snowy surroundings, rocky surface, and completely mountainous view definitely increase our craze to stand on the base of the world's highest peak, Mount Everest (Sagarmatha). Capturing the moment on photographs and video, we will return back to Ghorekshep after around 1 hour spent on Everest base camp.

We will do a short expedition to Kalpathar in the early morning and reach an elevation of 5545 m before sunrise. The spectacular view of Mount Everest with sunshine gives an amazing feeling. We will descend down to Gorekshep and have breakfast. After then we will start reverse trekking towards Lukla.

Following different pathways, we will descend down to Pheriche for a night stay.

Descending to lower elevation takes less time. We will come back to Namche, enjoying the mane and chorten, monasteries, sherpa villages, rhododendron forest, pheasant, yak, sheep, grassland, and pasture. The Himalayan Thamel welcomes you with more facilities than in upper elevation.

Saying goodbye to Namche, we will descend to Manjo village, pass through Sagarmatha National Park, and reach Phakding. Crossing suspension bridges and walking on the bank of Dudhkoshi, we will reach the Lukla, the ending point of the 11-day Everest base camp trek. The trekking ends as you reach Lukla.
