Bhutan and Nepal are alike in structure, but we can explore complete Buddhist culture in Bhutan. The short Bhutan tour covers Thimphu, Punakha, Paro, and its surrounding religious places, museums, and monasteries. Besides this, you can observe the sustainable development of the country with the protection of natural resources.
Bhutan tour begins after we Depart from Tribhuvan International airport to Paro. Flight from Nepal to Bhutan takes around 1 hour 15 minute and we will land to Paro international airport. After being checked out we will drive towards Thimpu, the capital city of Bhutan. Paro to Thimpu distance covers around 49.8 km. We will drive around an hour and 15 minutes to reach Thimpu. We will take rest, taste Bhutanese food and visit Tachogang Lhakhang, Kuensel Phodrang, Traschichhoe dzong, located near Thimpu in the evening.
After having breakfast in Thimpu we will drive towards Punakha. It takes around two hours to cover the Punakha to Thimpu distance around 73 km through Thimpu-Punakha highway. We can enjoy the greenery, Buddhist culture, local villages and terrace farming during the drive. Passing organic agriculture farm Yusipang and Hungtsho monastery we will reach Dochula Pass. The amazing beauty of Dochula pass with 108 memorial chorten in an altitude of 3100m is breathtaking. After spending around an hour in Dochula pass we will drive towards Royal botanical garden of Bhutan through Thimpu – Wangdue Phodrang Highway. Most of the trial encompasses thick forest until reaching Thinleygyang town. The trial continues to Puna Tsang river and reaches Punakha village on the bank Puna Tsang Chu. We will visit Chimi Lahakhang monastery, Punakha Dzong, the admistrative centre of Punakha district as our major destination of the day.
We will do breakfast in Punakha and leave for Paro. It takes around three hours to cover Punakha to Paro distance around 115km through Phuentsholing Thimpu highway. Passing the landscape with different hill stations, forest, terrace farming, villages, markets and monasteries we will reach Paro. After having lunch in Paro we will visit Simtokha Dzong commonly known as castle monastery located in an elevation of 3080m. After spending around an hour in this monastery we will visit Ta Dzong (watch tower) and Rinpung Dzong a large ancient monastery of 1644AD.
After having a breakfast, we will start our trek to Takshang Monastery. It takes around 4 hours to reach the elevation of Takshang Monastery at 3120m. This monastery is one of the famous monasteries of Bhutan commonly known as Tiger’s nest. After visiting the Monastery, we will return downward and trek towards Drukgyel Dzong (Buddhist monastery). It takes around two hours to reach Drukgyel Dzong from Takshang. We will return back towards Paro and visit Kyichu Lhakhang on the way to Paro. Kyichu Lhakhang, Himalayan buddhist monastery build in Pagoda style. We will reach Paro for night stay.
Depending on our departure time we all drive to Paro international airport and fly back to Nepal. Our company member will pick up you from Tribhuvan International airport to hotel.
