Overview

Are you thinking about the Kailash Mansarover Yatra? We are here with a trip to Mount Kailash at the most affordable cost. This trip will give a close-up view of Mt. Kailash, representing the center of the earth commonly known as the pillar of the world. It is a sacred mountain where thousands of pilgrims from Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Bon visit to worship Lord Shiva. Kailash Parbat is believed to be the home of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parbati based on holy books: the Skanda Purana and Vedas.

Where is Mount Kailash located?

Mount Kailash is 6638 meters above sea level at 31.066978° N and 81.312336° E in the Tibet Autonomous Region. The amazing view of Mt. Kailash can be explored from Darchen, Mansarover Lake, Kora, Lipulekh Pass, Ladak, and Simikot. Here we are with the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra to view the sacred Mount Kailash and gain spiritual enlightenment.

How to go Mount Kailash?

Kailash yatra is a spiritual tour and trek that begins after rudravishek in Pashupatinath. We can view Kailash from Darchen and continue Kailash Parvat parikrama. There are four routes to reach Mount Sumeru/Kailash.

  • Ancient Simikot route via Hilsa: Flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj to Simikot to Hilsa and drive to Darchen
  • Nyalam bus route: Drive from Kathmandu to Kodari to Nayalam to Saga to Darchen
  • Lhasa route: Flight to Lhasa from Kathmandu and drive to Singaste to Saga to Darchen
  • Kerung route: Drive from Kathmandu to Timure to Kerung to Saga to Darchen

The ancient Simikot route covers flights that depend on weather conditions with a high budget. The Nyalam route was destroyed after the destructive earthquake in 2015 AD. It will open soon after renovation. Similary, Lhasa route was the most preferred route to enjoy the Himalayan flight to Lhasa. The flight to Lhasa has been closed since the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, the current possible route to Mount Kailash is Kerung route from Nepal.

Kerung route covers mountain roads with pristine view of springs, rivers, forests, terrace farming, monasteriesand villages. The narrow and serpentine road connects to Utterganga but we will divert towards Timure. We can also choose a helicopter ride to Timure to shorten the route in a comfort zone. We will drive to Kerung pass through Mongla Pass at 5323 m and reach Saga on the bank of Bramhaputra river. The amazing journey to Mansarover encounters the unique flora and fauna of Tibet. The vintage of Mansarover, Gurlamandhata, Kailash, and its peaceful environment merits us with divine spirit.
