Namche Bazaar Trek is a short trek in the Everest region to get an amazing view of Mt. Everest and surrounding ranges. It is an easy trek that starts from Lukla and ends in Hotel Everest View, Syangboche. Spend your quality time with enormous beauty of Lukla, Phakding, Manjo, Jorsale, and Syangboche.
Namche bazaar is also known as the Himalayan Thamel with complete facilities for comfortable living. It is located in 27°48'18.18"N latitude and 86°42'43.88"E longitude at an elevation of 3440m. Indigenous people of Namche are Sherpas who welcome you with the best hospitality and provide lodging and food.
Lukla to Namche bazaar trek is also known as the Everest view trek as you will get great view of Everest, Nupste, Lhostse, Lhostse Shar, Ama Dablam, Tabuche Cholache, Kusum Khangaru, Khangteka, Thamsherkhu. Starting the trek from Lukla you will enter the popular trekking route of Everest Base Camp Trek. The divine flow of clean and fresh water of Dudhkoshi heal you with its burble and restless journey. The bank of Dudhkoshi, suspension bridges, Mane and Chorten, forest trial and Sherpa’s settlements are major attractions before reaching Phakding.
The small settlement on the bank of Dudhkoshi provides best accommodation with an attached room in Phakding. The tea house trekking from Lukla to Namche bazaar is always best for explorer and nature lover who wants a short trek and great view.
Phakding to Namche bazaar distance is 7.5 Km. To complete this distance, you will cover the uphill and downhill trail following the bank of Dudhkoshi, and enter Sagarmatha National Park. The pine trial, local villages, and biodiversity of Sagarmatha National Park makes your journey fruitful from Phakding to Namche Bazaar. You will cover entire Lukla to Namche Bazaar trek distance of 13.5 Km in 5 days. You will visit Hotel Everest View, Syangboche, and viewpoints for exploring mountains.
Namche Bazaar Trek Itinerary
Depending on season you will take Lukla flight either from Kathmandu or from Ramechap. In low season like June, July, August, December, Janurary and Februrary we will have Lukla flight from Kathmandu. During peak season (March, April, May, September, October and November) you will have Lukla flight from Ramechap.
In case of Ramechap flight, we should leave Kathmandu on early morning (2: 00 am) to reach Manthali airport on time. It takes around 30 minutes for reaching Lukla on flight both from Kathmandu and Ramechap.
After having breakfast in Lukla we will start the trek to cover lukla to Phakding distance, 6.2 Km. We will reach Phakding after 4, 5 hours trekking on bank of Dudhkoshi, forest trial, with uphills and downhills.
It takes around 6 hours to cover Phakding to Namche distance of 9.4 Km. After having breakfast in Phakding, we will follow the bank of Dudh Koshi and continue the trek until reaching Manjo village. The Sagarmatha National park welcome us with its diverse flora and fauna. The Pine trial, stone paved path and peaceful forest walk takes us to Namche bazaar.
You will explore around Namche bazzar on third day of Namche Bazzar trek itinerary. After having breakfast we will go for hiking towards Hotel Everest view. You will get amazing view of mountain range including Mt Everest from the hotel. We will have coffee and enjoy the view of surrounding. We will continue our trekking towards Syangboche and return back to Namche.
Day 4 will be the last day of trekking. We will trek down to Phakding after enjoying the breakfast in Namche bazzar. It will be faster to trek downhill as compared to uphill. Thus we will cover two days trekking route in a single day while returning back to Lukla. Passing through Jorsale, Manjo, Phakding and bank of dudh Koshi, we will reach Lukla after 7 hours of walk. We will take break in Phakding and have lunch then continue towards Lukla.
Depending on our flight time we will return Kathmandu either directly from Lukla flight to Kathmandu or flight to Ramechap and driving back to Kathmandu.

It takes 2 days to trek from Lukla to Namche bazaar. First day you have to trek to Phakding and second day reach Namche Bazaar after 5, or 6 hours of walk. It is possible to trek Lukla to Namche in a single day but it will be very difficult to cover such a long distance in a single day while trekking uphill.
No, you cannot go Lukla to Namche Bazaar by car. There is not any road for driving a car from Lukla to Namche. Not only Namche, there is not any possible roadway to reach Lukla by car or bus.
