The Pikey Peak Trek is one of the shortest and best Himalayan hiking trails in the Solukhumbu region. This trek is a recently opened trek which gives the most bang for your buck as well as the most adventure in just a few short days. You will appreciate the stunning, all-encompassing views of the different mountains of the Khumbu region including Everest (8848m), Kanchenjunga (8586m), Makalu (8463m), Lhotse (8414m), and many other snow-covered peaks. The outstanding view of sunrise and sunset from the peak gives a unique experience.
Plus, you will experience inviting towns and villages full of Sherpa culture and celebration. Furthermore, you will see a wide variety of landscapes with wildlife, trees, plants, and animals. This is the perfect trek for experienced hikers and travelers, as well as beginners to it all.
Trekkers will start after reaching Dhap bazar via driving from the capital of Nepal, Kathmandu. Next, we will hike through the lower Khumbu region which provides scenic beauty of the great Himalayas of the world including Mount Everest (8848m).
Pikey Peak trek (4065 m.) offers the view of thick forests decorated with the various colors of rhododendron- the national flower of Nepal, as well as orchids and magnolias. We will also trek through quaint, remote villages rich in Buddhist culture and passion decorated with old monasteries and huge mani walls. The outstanding beauty of the place and shortest route and the panoramic view of the Himalayas attract a number of tourists. Remarkable sunrise and sunset view from pikey peak is another attraction that gives an image of the Everest and Himalayan ranges of the Khumbu region.

The best time for Pikey Peak trek is spring (March, April, May) and autumn (September, October November). Pikey peak trek begins with your arrival in Kathmandu international airport. Our company member will welcome you in the airport and drop you to hotel. After having rest you can do your shopping and enjoy the dinner with company member in cultural restaurant.
Kathmandu to Salleri distance is 125Km. To cover this distance we will get ready early in the morning and start our journey from 7:00am. It takes around 9 hours to reach Salleri from Kathmandu. Starting the drive from busy and crowded city, we will reach to the peaceful surrounding of Everest region. The fresh environment, Sherpa villages and greenery retain the tiredness of whole day drive. We will spend overnight in Salleri.
After having breakfast we will start our trekking towards Pikey peak base camp. The uphill and downhill trials and reduced forest makes our trekking amazing. Salleri to Pikey peak distance is around 12 Kilometer. It takes around 7 hours to reach base camp of Pikey peak. Enjoying the mountain view, forest trial and biodiversity of Khumbu region we will reach Pikey peak base camp. The trial from Salleri to base camp is easier as compared with difficult uphill's from Japre.
We will wake up early in the morning and start hiking towards Pikey peak, Our target will be to reach Pikey peak before sunrise. We can enjoy the amazing view of rising sun and its rays falling on Mt Everest (8848m), Kanchenjunga (8586m), Makalu (8463m), Lhotse (8414m), Cho Oyu (8201m), Manaslu (8163m), Annapurna I (8091m) from east to west. After spending around an hour in Pikey peak we will descend down towards Loding village. Have our Lunch and take rest.
Leaving Loding village behind us we will trek towards another beautiful village Juunbesi. After having breakfast we will hike through lush forest, terraced farmland and Sherpa villages. We will get knowledge regarding to Sherpa culture and their life style and explore different monasteries on the way to Junbesi.
To enjoy the trekking period of Pikey peak trek and giving rest to our body we will stay in Junbesi. After having breakfast we will hike to view point for enjoying the entire view of Himalayas with Mt. Everest. We will return down to tea house and explore Thupten Choling monastery, Junbesi Monastery and local life.
After having breakfast in Junbesi we will trek to Phaplu. The last day of trekking begins through amazing landscapes in Everest region with small villages rich in Sherpa culture. We can interact with local people and know the way of Himalayan life as well. We will reach Phaplu after 4, 5 hours of walk.
Depending on the body condition and we will return back to Kathmandu either on bus/jeep or Flight. We prefer sharing jeep for budget trek to Pikey peak but we can customize the Pikey peak trek depending on your demand. Flight from Phaplu to Kathmandu is takes only 30 minute. In case you want to explore more from Eastern to Central Nepal then you we can return back to Kathmandu on Jeep as in our budget trek.
After reaching Kathmandu we will check into hotel and take rest. You can prepare for returning back to your country and do shopping in Thamel Bazzar.
Depending on your flight time our company member will drop you to airport. You will receive your certificate of trekking and warm farewell a night before leaving country Nepal.
